<otherCitDet>This layer contains city limit boundaries represented as polygons which are determined by each individual city entity. These boundaries are derived from existing cadastral, hydrologic, or other significant data to insure cartographic consistency between geographic themes. This cartographic consistency is maintained digitally by copying spatial data directly from clrmn, hydmn, or other themes into the city limit layer.
The city limit classification code is stored as an attribute in the polygon attribute table (PAT). Up to four city-code characters are coded into each polygon label point to signify the city associated with that particular polygon. Annotation is present to allow creation of aesthetically pleasing map compositions.
The arcs comprising the polygons are also coded to provide additional line symbol boundaries between various municipalities, Eglin, water bodies, etc. This provides additional flexibility when designing plotting solutions to various applications.
This theme contains the interior hydmn polygons. The hydmn polygons are coded so they can be selected or unselected. This allows different color shading for unselected water polygons and city limit polygons; therefore, the water will remain blue because it will not be over-shaded with a different city limit shade color. However, for applications that require the entire city limit boundary be shaded, the interior water polygons may be selected so the shade appears to be one polygon.
Each coverage contains a boundary polygon (if needed) to allow manipulation of county un-incorporated areas. As city limits change, this theme maintains the corresponding annexation ordinance number, annexed from, annexed to and date.
